The Georgia Water
Resources Institute at Georgia Tech and the South Carolina Water Resources
Center at Clemson University invite you to a workshop focusing on issues
related to the Savannah River, a key water resource shared between Georgia and
South Carolina. The purpose of the
workshop is to (1) review the status and findings of recent and on going
studies and planning processes, (2) identify information gaps, if any, that
need to be addressed to enable policy makers to develop comprehensive,
equitable, and sustainable water sharing compacts, and (3) form the
partnerships necessary to fill the information gaps and support comprehensive
water resources planning and management.
The workshop will be held at the Georgia Tech
Campus in Savannah, Georgia on Thursday, November 18th and Friday,
November 19th. A tentative
workshop agenda is shown below including presentations on water resources
issues and breakout sessions on a range of water sharing issues.
If you are interested in attending this workshop, please R.S.V.P. to Ms. Jean Martin (jean@strom.clemson.edu; 864-656-0208) or Ms. Janice Davis (janice.davis@ce.gatech.edu; 404-894-2217). Also, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact Jeff Allen at the South Carolina Water Resources Center, or Aris Georgakakos at the Georgia Water Resources Institute. We look forward to seeing you in Savannah.
